WHERE TO BUY LOCAL DURING THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK
In these uncertain times, supporting local communities has never been more important. There is clearly a renewed focus on our local food and drink producers, farm shops and markets.
Market research recently released by the FreeRange Dairy Network (March 2020) revealed that 55% of consumers in the region are currently buying food from local suppliers, following growing concern about food security due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Some 78% said they were now ‘more aware of the role local food plays in keeping us healthy’, and 66% indicated they would continue to buy local produce once the pandemic dies down.
Many Cotswold Taste members are already providing home delivery services and online sales channels. Buy local, support local producers and keep the Cotswold economy strong.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Cotswold Taste’s Patron, Dame Fiona Reynolds DBE, as the Chair of the National Audit Office from 10 January 2021.
Proposing the appointment in the House of Commons on 1 July 2020, the Prime Minister said:
‘She has spent most of her life working to preserve the best of this country, holding senior roles at the Council for National Parks and the Campaign to Protect Rural England. For more than a decade, she was responsible for great swathes of our heritage as director general of the National Trust. She has worked in central Government, sat on the boards of institutions including the BBC and has, since 2012, served as Master at Emmanuel College, Cambridge.
‘Alongside all that, she somehow found time to write a book, “The Fight for Beauty”, described by one reviewer as “a warning against thoughtless depredation authorised by policy-makers”’.
